    If you feel like stopping in and sharing/ranting about your day, here's a thread for it! :-) My day...

    I had to be at work at 8 am this morning. I teach pre-school. Since I'm a college student too, I am not there everyday. So on the days I am there those kids make me feel like Princess Diana. But then they argue about which table I sit at during lunch and all that. Cute until someone starts to cry then I feel guilty. After work I came home to no electricity so my garage door wouldn't open :-( After it came on and I was in, my husband and I took the dog for a walk. And that's about it. Anyone else have a more exciting day? :-)

    Got up. Worked. Started work on a new Chapter [Jen have you read any of my story yet???], #21!!

    God I love that song! They look like Joy Division but sound NOTHING like them. Priceless!

    I had a day off today, so I did a bit of cleaning, got my hair cut, did some shopping, read for a while, then went to see Shrek 3 with my sister. That movie is absolutely hilarious. Though it's supposed to be a kids movie it seemed more geared to the adults. A lot of the content a child wouldn't understand, the soundtrack is packed with bands like Led Zepplen and Wings.

    Anyhoo, that was my day (I like this thread by the way).

    Nice thread...nothing exciting today. I did a little grocery shopping, some laundry and studied. Pirates of the Carribean 3 opens here this weekend anyone going to see this? Seeing Johnny Depp dressed as a pirate again is worth the ticket price.

    Yesterday I said goodbye to one of my favourite colleagues. It's my last week here at work, she was off for the rest of the week.
    Very strange, I don't think I'm fully realising it, been working here for three years now.. and next tuesday I'll be starting somewhere else! Mwah. Blue.
    So, I listened to the Smiths the rest of the day once I got home, haha.

    I probably won't see Pirates 3 just yet because I still haven't seen the second one. (I'd thought I had plans to see it with a group of friends last summer but they went without me. Lovely. :-P) I'd really like to see both though.

    Yesterday I thought about doing work on my thesis (and didn't), and watched 24HPP and Arrested Development with a friend.

    Nice thread, not so exciting day so far though...

    Finshed worh on Tuesday til 19th June, off to the Sunshine state next week ( yeah, might even go through a drive thru burger place !!LOL Sunny ) anyway this morning went to a Kids play place with my 3 year old, usually go with a friend but she's on her hols. Two lots of washing, a stack of ironing, school run, gonna make tea any second now but out tonight with some old work friends so actually don't know why I'm moaning an ok day I guess

    Last night I went to see DJ Hooky! It was fun, he played lots of NO and JD tunes and some other good stuff. I got his autograph and I imagine I probably got on his nerves a bit being an obsequious NO fangirl. So it goes! :-P He seemed nice though.

    I didn't really say much to him because the music was so loud, but I did manage to say something obsequious and fangirly like "New Order and Joy Division changed my life!" *facepalm* They did though!

    He played stuff like "Krafty," "Blue Monday" (of course, lol), "True Faith," "BLT," "Crystal," "Transmission," "LWTUA," "Disorder," "24 Hour Party People" (Happy Mondays), "Song 2" (Blur), and also "Out of Control"!!! He switched to something else before the "Maybe you think my moustache is too much" bit though, lol.

    Some guy on the dancefloor started trying to chat me up during "Transmission" and I totally gave him the cold shoulder because you don't interrupt my "Transmission" moment!!

    I didn't post yesterday so...

    Yesterday I worked for 9.5 hours. My husband and I took the dog for a walk when we got hom in the evening and we saw a stray dog with an injured leg running through the neighborhood. We tried to catch him but we couldn't keep up. Even with a broken/injured leg he was very quick. I was sad about that all night :-(

    Today I didn't work. I did some shopping then celebrated my mom's birthday.

    Lise, what was that guy thinking?? Talking during "Transmission"....he would have made a bad boyfriend anyway ;-) I know I would have said something stupid had I met any of them. It is probably best that I did not try to go backstage when I saw New Order in Chicago. That is so cool you got to meet him though! I'm jealous!! :-) You have to scan the autograph and post it if you can!!!

    Jane, have a good time! You should go visit Sunny at work while you're there ;-)

    Congrats on the new job, Mari! I remembered that you said you were interviewing for a new job a whole ago. It is hard leaving a job for a new one though....even when the old job sucks. I worked at a place for 7 years and I still miss my old co-workers.

    Kay, I'm going to see Pirates 3 but not this weekend because the crowds will be too crazy. My husband got free passes from his work though. I will definitely be drooling over Johnny Depp. I didn't like the 2nd one very much but I think the 3rd one will be much better.

    Sunny, I read everything! I've just started chapter 11. You're an artist, you write...what don't you do girl?? :-)

    I want to see Shrek 3, Waters. Those movies are always so funny. Sounds like a good soundtrack too. When I'm not listening to New Order, I'm usually listening to classic rock.

    EEEE!! You're reading the Story!! W00t!! I'm tellin' ya, the smut was the hardest stuff to write. Still trying to finish Chapter 21 as evidence! *LOL* [As in, I don't want to have to write another round of smut but, seeing that Chapter 20 ended up as it ended up... *shifty eyes* oh-oh.] I think my favorite Chapter is Chapter 17. Best one I wrote in my opinion. That and Chapter 12.

    ...wait, YOU'RE GETTING DOWN TO THE GOOD STUFF NOW, JEN!! W00T!!!

    *is beside herself. anywho!*

    Funny thing about the insomnia bit--I didn't go to bed until 5 yesterday morning!! It was a day off, so why not!?

    Anywho, this is how insane I'm about to be in a few hours [y'all ready for this?]--

    Today:
    + Worked. Actually got out 35 minutes early!! w00t!!
    + Party tonight!! Friend of mine is picking me up at 5:30 this afternoon so we can head up to a friend's house in another freckin' county for a party. I'm so psyched I wanna volunteer for DJ duty. Guess what I'm opting to play. :-P
    + Staying over at house probably. *LOL* I'll be so partied out it'll be hilarious!!

    Tomorrow:
    + Returning to my apartment. [Crap, reminds me--gotta pack an extra outfit. XD]
    + Going to a concert with a guy one of my friends is setting me up with. Can someone say, 'blind date'??

    Right now I'm just kinda checkin' up on stuff and listening to the 12" version of Best & Marsh.








    ...no seriously, Best & Marsh is the best instrumental song the Order's put out. *nod* End of!

    Smut is hard to write...but you seem to do well with it ;-) Best and Marsh is great. They do wonderful with the instrumentals. Have fun at the party and with the blind date!! What concert are you seeing?

    So far today I have....walked my dog to my parents' house. I sat and talked with my parents and helped my mom with her computer. And I'm going to a Bar-B-Q soon.

    Today I worked, now i'm out the door to go to a club where the DJ appreciates JD and NO.

    P.S. Jen dear, I take it you read Chapters 14-16 then? *LOL* I'm finally getting around to taking on Chapter 21, which is actually set in the current time, to give the past a break for a while. Things are, somewhat, starting to tie together.

    Yesterday my husband and I went to a Bar-B-Q and we took our dog. These friends of ours have a 3 year old and a baby. Their 3 year old loves our dog so we always take him to their house. Today I feel miserable though. I have a terrible headache from my sinuses :-(

    How'd the blind date go, Sunshine?

    waters_fan, Hooky did some DJ sets in Canada and the US in the winter, but I don't see any more dates in North America on his MySpace. It looks like DJing might be something he'll keep doing though, so here's hoping he comes by NA again and hits Toronto!

    This weekend my mom has been over from the States to visit!! I've mostly been taking her all around Manchester and of course pointing out any musical landmarks we pass.

    It's three o clock here and I got out of bed half an hour ago, because I've been coughing my brains out last night, bleh! Hope I'll be better tomorrow because that's the first day of my new job..

    (fact that there's a cold smiley cracks me up though, haha)

    And Mari, I hope you feel better! Break a leg at your new job!

    Mom's usually not too strict about things like that, but I can't say I didn't make an effort to stock the kitchen with healthier stuff than I usually eat...*shifty eyes* I'm planning to fly back to the States in October (after my dissertation deadline). It's possible for me to extend my visa another year and be eligible for full-time work, but there are a lot of complications involved with that which I'm not sure I'd be able to deal with, much as I'd love to stay. :-/ So it goes!
