I've had a terrible evening. I got back to my car after work only to find that someone had smashed one of the side windows. Fortunately nothing has been stolen (there wasn't anything worth stealing anyway!) but it was a rather cold drive home and I've now got to go through the hassle (and expense) of getting it repaired. :face-sad:

I've borrowed my mum's car to go to work in until mine is fixed but I'm a bit worried that I may have to postpone a client visit that I have booked for Thursday. :face-plain:

Oh Alison! That is terrible! I'm glad nothing was stolen but that's a pain to have to fix it. That happened to my husband about 10 years ago. His window was busted and they knocked around every piece of paper and napkin in his car but nothing was stolen. It makes you wonder what those people are doing? Are they just trying to ruin your day or did they think something valuable with in there?

I have no idea what made them do it, there certainly wasn't anything in there worth taking. It happened in the morning sometime between 8.15 and 10.00. The police did a door-to-door enquiry in the area (there's a row of houses on the opposite side of the road to where I was parked) the next day but no-one saw anything. Fortunately I managed to get it repaired on the Wednesday afterwards but I still come across the occasional piece of glass.

The weather has been slightly warmer for the last couple of days. I've had a long weekend this week as I had a day off on Friday and I have been able to go out in the car, which has been nice.

I'm not sure if we have any British Angel mums but if we do, Happy Mother's Day! :face-smile:

OOOh did i tell you all I went out with the Vikings to see Re:Order (the next best thing) and had a brilliant (and wasted) time with them. Re:Order were brilliant and then we had the 'Smyths' - A Smiths tribute band. Top night. Don't remember much of it (obviously) but it was top xxx

Today I administered tests to high school students so they can graduate. Poor kids...tests always made me a nervous wreck!

I saw the Re:Order video on Facebook of Dave doing WIM--so wish I was there! Fully hoping to come to the UK again in the summer for the Platt fields show with Ian Brown!:face-smile:

Haven't been on here in a LONG time--It's good to be back!

Sorry! It's been a while since I posted on this forum...BLAME IT ON TWITTER!!! :P No seriously, I still love this place so much! I love my Angels! <3

In the past few weeks, my mood has been extremely down. I badly injured myself in the back because I played (very intensively) tennis on Wii. I had terrible muscle spasms in the middle of the night which caused me insomnia. It was terrible. I was scared to go to bed because I knew it was gonna to hurt like hell. But my nice massotherapist healed my pain and I'm doing better now.

And now, I'm hyper good mood! I HAVE A PERMANENT JOB AT THE UNIVERSITY WHERE I'M WORKING!!! Sorry for the caps but I'm so F*cking excited and happy! I'll be working for the biology department as a secretary!:face-devil-grin: I swear I've not been that happy in my whole life! Having a permanent job changed your life!

Anyways, I'll try to bump over here more often in the future...:face-angel:
  2.
Been busy with house chores mostly since morning...gonna see Alice in Wonderland this eve!!:face-smile:

Ginger, I've been busy cleaning, too. I need to finish my homework, too. I'm taking a class right now. Have fun seeing Alice in Wonderland!

I saw Alice in Wonderland. I wasn't that impressed with it either which surprised me.

I hope everyone had a nice Easter holiday. Mine was ok but I kind of got into an argument with my sister. What is it about holidays that makes families fight? Idk.
My niece's daughter has been staying with me for 3 months & then she told me last nite that she was moving back home with her mother. I am kind of sad about that. I kind of got used to her company, you know? *sighs* What can you do? *sighs* I should be glad to be relieved but strangely, I'm not.

Sorry I haven't been on lately either. Blame it on Facebook. I don't bother with Twitter. I promise not to be so scarce from now on.

I haven't been impressed wth much of Tim Burton's stuff in the last few years. I haven't seen Alice in Wonderland yet but maybe I'll skip it!

    That's a bummer about your niece's daughter, Ann. :(

    Thanks, Jen.

I was trying to figure out why I was feeling so bad about it which I am. I think I am just feeling really rejected. I think I did a really selfless generous thing & I ended up getting the door slammed in my face. My daughter is having her birthday soon & I don't know yet if I am going to include them.....

Oh yeah, I am going to the dentist to get one of my teeth pulled. Gawd, I am so scared. Wish me luck anyways. :face-plain:

Welcome back, Ann! What happened with your niece's daughter sounds bad. I can imagine how you must feel. Good luck at the dentist!

Today I received my first birthday card, even though my birthday isn't until 17th (as those of you on my Facebook or MySpace will know, it's a bit of a sore subject)!! My mum went to visit my cousin to give her the presents we've bought for her new baby daughter and picked it up while she was there.

I don't think it's going to be long before my tortoise wakes up! Apparently he was being rather noisy last night. Hopefully the nice weather that we're expecting over the next few days will encourage him. :face-smile:

Good luck, Ann! I had a teeth cleaning earlier in the week. I always pray for a good report from the dentist! How old is your niece?

I will certainly try to, Jen! In fact I got a card and a balloon from a client today as she's not seeing me again until after my birthday. I'm feeling OK about the big day at the moment, but unfortunately I've still got to make a final decision on what to do to celebrate. Everything I've thought of has fallen through :face-plain:. Someone suggested going to a band night at a local pub, but unfortunately the band on that night is one that does disco and soul covers, which is not really my type of thing :face-plain:. Hopefully I'll go somewhere, even if it is that band night!

My tortoise woke up today and spent most of the day out in the garden. I'll see if I can post a picture of him and revive the Photos Of Whatever thread! :face-smile:

Happy Birthday Alison! Enjoy! You are in ur prime!
You are in good company. My daughter's birthday is on the 14th & my boyfriend's is on the 20th. I haven't even gotten them presents yet!
Jen, you asked me about my niece? She is 8 years old. She isn't coming back to stay with us. My daughter is adjusting to it and I guess I am as well.
We have a new problem. My daughter came down with a mysterious rash on Saturday and it hasn't gone away. I took her to hospital & the dr. told me he thinks it's a virus. We may not be able to celebrate her birthday on her birthday. Looks like we may have to postpone.

Thank you, Ann! It seems that there are lots of people with birthdays in April, I know quite a few too! The latest on the celebrations is that I looked around for something better than that band night but couldn't find anything, so I've told the group of friends who said they may come along that I may as well go along to it and asked them if they still wanted to come. That was on Sunday morning. No-one has bothered to reply yet! It looks like I'll be at home watching TV as usual on a Saturday. :face-plain:

I'm trying not to feel old, but it's very difficult not to when I'm surrounded by young people at work!!

I hope your daughter feels better soon. Maybe she can have a joint celebration with your boyfriend next week! :face-smile:

Ann, I hope your daughter is better now. My friend's daughter got a rash and it turned out to be roseola.

I cleaned all day and dealt with a computer virus. I don't know how I get so many viruses. I never go to any sketchy websites unless I include this one. :)

Well, yesterday was my birthday and I had a really nice day out shopping. I did go to that band night in the end with two of my friends and had a good time! :face-smile:

Friday was interesting too. My workmates decorated my desk and gave me some cards and presents, and a group of us went out for lunch too.

Unfortunately it's all over now so back to normal at work tomorrow. :face-plain:

    Hi girls!

I hope you guys both had good weekends. I must say I did. My baby girl got better in time for her birthday. We threw a big house party for her on Wednesday. She got a lot of gifts which was nice. Then on Saturday afternoon, we arranged a movie outing for her along with some friends & family. Then we went McDonald's afterwards. So in a way, it was like she had two celebrations. We probably overdid it but it was partly in response to her just getting over being sick. I was just so relieved & glad she got better.

I went out Saturday night for the first time in ages. There was a disco ball in my town that night. It was really good fun. I think I am giving away my age because I recognized most of the songs. They played my request. I asked for an old 80's song called Der Komissar by Falco. I don't know if you guys would remember or recognize that song. It was a big hit in '82 when I was 15. It was fun reliving my teen years, lol.

Yesterday I went to a Country Show and saw lots of different farm animals. I also watched sheepdog and heavy horse displays (I took lots of photos which I've put on Facebook). Then I went home and watched two of the World Cup matches on TV.

I think I may go to the shops today. I haven't been for a couple of weeks! :face-smile:
