I have to go to the BMV today. I'm not sure what those of you outside of the U.S. call it but it's the place where you get your driver's license, license plates for your cars...every year on your birthday you have to renew your license plates. Lucky me, I have to do this today. The lines are usually really long!
Here you just have to buy a tax disc for your car every year, but not on your birthday. Most people go to a larger Post Office to buy it but you can order it online too. Our equivalent of the BMV is the DVLA. I always have to go on a Saturday as the Post Office in the town where I work is the other side of town to my office and it's difficult to get there and back during your lunch break. When I went this year the person at the counter wrote my car's registration number out wrong on the tax disc so I had to take it back and get a new one. It was lucky that I noticed it as soon as I got out of the Post Office as I was about 40 miles away from home!
Apart from that, Jen, I hope you're enjoying your birthday!
I have been painting and busy around my house lately! I've been neglecting my lovely angels! Yesterday was my wedding anniverary too! We had a nice dinner out.
Hi girls! Sorry I haven't been on. I will try to remedy that in the future. I was with my BF's family all weekend as they were having a family reunion. It was nice. They had a big potluck and I made a Taco casserole for it. As experiments go, it was ok. It was a nice weekend. What they do is they take their trailers down to the beach and they set up a big tent and have activities all weekend. Saturday was sunny but it rained today. Still, it was a nice way to while away a Sunday afternoon.
I haven't been here much lately either. It's my busy month at work and the work's starting to pile up! Fortunately the weather wasn't as hot today as it has been for the past few days.
I also went to see my neighbour's cat earlier as I'm looking after her while they're on holiday. I thought they were away for a fortnight but it turns out they're away for three weeks. Never mind!
Fortunately they have left us lots of food for her! She's quite elderly (I think she's about 17 or 18) so she's not too active, but she still likes lots of attention.
I went to see Snoop Dogg in concert last night. It was quite the operation for me. I had to find a babysitter for my little girl. Then I had to find a ride into town. The concert was 45 minutes from where I live. I managed to get there okay. I must say I was quite impressed. He put on a really good show. I'm not really a rap music fan but I always liked him. He's not angry or too angsty. His music is mostly about just trying to enjoy life.....which was what I tried to do last night.
Today I have pulled weeds and I took my hyper dogs on a car ride. Next up is laundry and cleaning the kitchen. I need to get organized before school starts back up.
